Content Development Policies Guidance
Program Content and Knowledge Level – Weaver assures that the program content and program level is appropriate for the intended audience. Program level is indicated on the invite and shared with our CPE listserv in order for the prospective attendee to gauge interest and applicability. Most of our external CPE courses are developed for the level basic or overview to benefit audiences that are new to a skill or an attribute or to provide a general review of a subject area from a broad perspective, and will often not be tied to any prerequisites. For our courses that are indicated as intermediate, advanced, or update, prerequisites will be identified so that the prospective attendee may determine their fit for the content being presented.
Content and delivery systems – All of our courses are developed by our professional staff who have expertise, experience, and education in the subject matter.
Content is Developed by a Subject Matter Expert – All of our courses are reviewed by a proven Subject Matter Expert in the area. These reviews occur before the first presentation of the material and again after each significant revision to the course or content. We adhere to the NASBA Standard No. 5 of assuring all courses in accounting or auditing are developed by at least one person who is a licensed CPA in good standing, and all courses in taxes are developed by at least one licensed CPA, tax attorney, or IRS enrolled agent.
Content is Based on Relevant Learning Objectives – All of our courses contain relevant learning objectives as listed on the invitation. Learning objectives are developed to correlate to objectives and outcomes that should be achieved by the participants as a result of engaging in the training.
